We Are The Champions!!!

It finally happened. It took awhile, and some money (Over 300 million dollars spent in salary during the off-season) but were finally champions. It was a great series by two great teams, but in the end the better team won. As you can tell from the hat I was wearing in that C@@l P!c I'm a Yankee fan. I lived right across the bridge (Nino Brown threw the the white guy from in the beginning of New Jack City) from Yankee stadium. I remember my father taking me to see my first Yankee game against the Chicago White Sox, the house that Ruth built. I saw something funny during one of the world series games. A fan was holding a sign that said "The House That Jeter Built". If you think about it, it's kind of true. With them having a new stadium this year and Jeter being with the team for the last 15 years bringing them 5 championships during his time there, shit why not? 27 MLB championships and counting. Oh somebody ask A-Rod how it feel to have that monkey off his back!

Shout out to the whole Yankee team from bringing a chip back to where it belongs, in New York! Special Shout out to Mo Rivera, Jeter, Andy and Posada for being there since our last championship and sticking together and bring one home already!

Meeelllloooooo!!!!

Get ready people, get ready to see something special this NBA season. Carmelo Anthony has reinvented himself during the last 2 years. I know I'm gonna sound crazy to some but I would like to give some of this credit to him being around Kobe Bryant during the summer for the Olympics. After winning the gold many of the players talked about Melo being if not one of but the leader of that team. We all know that Kobe Bryant is the best player in the NBA right now and think some of that rubbed off on Melo during that time. Anybody who knows me knows that I can't give all that credit to just Kobe but also Michael Jordan for just talking to him and staying by his side through his ups and downs. But like many of the young community would say "At the end of the day"...( I really dont like to hear people use that over and over while talking, terrible!)...he got his act together, started to appreciate being a professional athlete and now he has the chance to become a great player starting with this season.

This post was really for to talk big shit about how good Melo is playing right now. I guess I would consider him my favorite player since Mike and the demise of A.I. Currently leading the NBA in scoring, included in a lot of MVP talks (all of this you can check on your local sports website). I know it's early but I just got a feeling about this year in the NBA. Something's gonna happen!

Excuse me ya'll no disrespect but...

Can we for a minute look at the humor of the Kanye vs. Taylor Swift Beef? When I first saw this during the MTV Awards, I laughed. I thought it was so funny, Swift looked stunned as did the rest of the people watching the show. I know it was rude but I like to look at the comedic side of things. Beyonce seemed to have said "Alright Kanye"! One thing my sister did bring to my attention, Swift never said Thank You to Beyonce for allowing her to say her thank you speech. Though it was later stated that MTV set that up, she still should have said "Thank You Beyonce for doing this".

Already (Kanye Shrug)

Maybe he is cool...

It seems so crazy. Jay-Z on Oprah, Jay-Z on Bill Maher, Jay-Z everywhere. With the release of his latest album Blueprint 3, Jay-Z has been doing a lot of promotion for this album. He was the first music guest on Jay Leno's late night tv show along with Kayne West and Rhianna. I thought to myself, "have I ever seen this much hoopla over any of his past release?". NO! I've been a fan of Jay-Z since 97. The first album I ever heard from him was "In my Lifetime, Vol.1". I then went back to listen to the street classic Reasonable Doubt released in 1996. I ask "How come it seems like Jay-Z is just coming out with his first album"? It seems like his music is now accepted and great for mainstream. He has been taken away from the streets completely and is now for them. This is the same way I felt when I saw the change in Harlem's own Rucker Park, It seem like a different audience was starting to accept it. Now with so many people loving Jay-Z it seems the same way. I hope with all the attention he continues to make music for the people who have been his supporters from the beginning.

So now he's cool, he's such a great guy. His lyrics mean so much, he came from nothing..blah, blah, blah. Jay-Z is just a dude from the projects that rapped his way out the hood. His lyrics just talk about shit that happens in the hood any day. I guess it's poetry when he talks about slinging rocks, smoking weed, drug deals, fast cars and women, and now the hottest chick in the game wearing his chain.
Yea, OK!

Since you been gone...

It's been a long time I shouldn't left you, without a good blog to step too. I must admit, it has been some time since the last post. The "Summer of Bleek" is over. Started off wrong with the car accident and ended right going back to work. Some things on my mind soon to post. Including artwork, news, sports, and anything that comes to mind.

This young man wildin'

Glad to see lately more older men taking a role in mentoring young men. While we have seen the mistakes Michael Vick has made, he has future Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy as a mentor to him. What a way to go out on top. Win the Super Bowl, retire and help young men all over the country in and out of prison. One if his first challenges is to get Vick back into the NFL and living a productive life. Our next mentor has come as member of my favorite NBA team in Chauncey Billups of the Denver Nuggets. After a series of events this summer JR Smith is not having a good off-season. After being released from prison he posted some questionable comments on his twitter account. Some believing that he was involved in the Blood street gang. By replacing all words that included the letter c with k's because as a member of the bloods I guess you can't write the letter c. I remember in junior high school this girl that was in the bloods showed me her blood book, and I remember her not writing c's. Foolish.

So that lead me back to Chauncey who has decided to move in with JR for the remainder of August help him out a bit. “We’ve got some talking to do,’’ Billups said in an interview with HoopsHype.com. Smith is currently staying in Las Vegas, and that's where Chauncey will travel to help this young man who obliviously doesn't appreciate the privilege to play in the NBA

I'm Back!!!

Well not yet!

So in a series of events we now know that we have Michael Vick back into the NFL of some what. The NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has allowed Vick to sign with a team, play the final 2 preseason games and can be active by week 6. This also includes participating in all team practice sessions. If he does the right thing from here on out he can be active as early as week 1 or 2. With Vick having sat the last two years he might come out an even better QB then when he left. We'll see, he is 29. Shout out to Tony Dungy who has decided to be Vick's mentor. I like the fact that he's helping him turn his life around. Great Job!

So now the question you maybe asking yourself is...."anybody trying to sign that dude?". Well according to Senior writer John Clayton of ESPN, he has stated that the phones are ringing!

I was hosting a meeting with some colleagues of mine and we were talking about this. We all knew that as soon as Vick was reinstated that teams would call to see how Vick was doing. I guess that's a nice way of saying "hey, how u feel, think you can play?".

Congrats, I can't wait till the announcer of any football stadium says "From Virginia Tech, Michael Vick". And the crowd goes nuts! And believe me, they will!

How long will it take him to take off running and not pass. I think he first couple downs he'll try to throw from the pocket. Complete one or two passes and before you know it he'll be back to his old ways that we like the most. It won't be long before he takes off running for a 13 yard gain. Put my bet in the books that the first rush attempt will be a 13+ yard gain.

Get Outta There LBJ!

Shout out to TMZ.com for leaking the video of Lebron getting dunked on. I found a clear copy from ebaumnation.com. And now I have it CLEAR for you!
It's not even that bad......"ssshhhhhhhhiiiiiiiitttttttttttttt"...it was ok. If it was'nt Lebron then it would be a regular dunk. A tough dunk, because he caused body contact and still dunked. But all of this doesn't mean anything if he can't prove himself in college to be able to play against Lebron in the future. He might be a dud.

Hi mom, I'm going to Disney World

Hey Young World,

The group in Philadelphia that was not able to go swimming at a upscale swim club, has been rewarded greatly. Tyler Perry decided to show these kids a good time. Sending them to Florida for 3 days of fun in Disney World. What a way to give back to the community. Like the real community, not the one they pick to promote a show or make a movie based on. This was great..."no other celebrity stepped up"...! Oh boy, I'm done. Shout out to Tyler Perry for that. Great Look!

Anybody looking for a Quarterback?

"Is my mic on T?" "testing, testing, one, two, one, two"

Just sending a shout out to my man Michael Vick who was released from Federal Custody today. I miss catching a Mike Vick highlight on SportsCenter. So today I count this as one step closer for him getting back into the NFL. The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is expecting to meet with Vick and see how he's changed as a man. "I hope he wears a suit". At that point Goodell will announce how long he expects to suspend Vick for this upcoming season. I'm thinking about 9+ games. "Then again, maybe if he wears the suit it will only be 7+ games". I wonder what team will take a chance on him. $5 to the person who can guess the correct team that signs him! "Word Up".

My feet on ICE

I know I've stated in the past about the San Antonio Spurs quietly making moves and adjustments to their team. They have recently made some noise in another fashion. Due to one of their most recent acquired player Richard Jefferson. He decided the day of his wedding to not show up. Left his New Jersey Net Cheerleader at the altar and many guest confused. He was nice enough to send his friend with his AMEX BLACK CARD and told him to take everyone out on him. Basically "Sorry for not showing up to the wedding but how about ya'll go out without me, on me". How many of you would be too upset to go out for drinks after what just happend?

Get me that Video!

Just heard that LeBron was playing a pick-up game at his basketball camp and got dunked on by Jordan Crawford, a sophomore at Xavier. Afterwards LeBron quickly had Nike officials confiscate the two videos that were taken of the dunk.

Ryan Miller, a freelance photographer who was working at the camp that day, told CBSSports.com: "LeBron called [Nike Basketball Senior Director Lynn Merritt] over and told him something," Miller said. "That's how I knew his name was Lynn. LeBron said, 'Hey, Lynn. Come here."*

Lebron it's cool, it's basketball. This type of stuff tends to happen from time to time. My question is "Why did you jump if it's only a pick-up game?" Posterized!
Would love for that to get uploaded to Youtube.com.

Until then just enjoy this vid of Yao dunking on Lebron:

Breezy New Chain

Oh I thought that was...

*News*

Crazy how the Lakers end up with Ron Artest! Just made it that much tougher to beat them next year. It's cool, Denver got a nice draft pick in PG Ty Lawson from UNC. He'll do well with running the second unit. Cleveland went and got SHAQ! I still see them losing in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Celtics who just got 'Sheed from the Pistons. My man A.I. still can't get a job. San Antonio quietly traded for Richard Jefferson. Shh don't tell nobody! I don't understand Jamal Crawford to the Hawks. I guess Golden State getting Stephen Curry in the Draft changed that up. Plus they never wanted to keep Crawford in the first place.

The Kidd stayed in Dallas. I guess Kidd said "Man, I can't win no ring, but I'll keep winning these Gold medals and get big checks". Since that seems to be the only way he wins. Ariza who signed with the Rockets can't keep his people mouth shut. They leaked out info that LeBron plans to stay in Cleveland after 2010. At least that's what they heard. I think it's true, I don't see LeBron going anywhere. I think you got a better chance of seeing Wade in Knick uniform before you see a James on the back.

About that A.I. being unemployed. Yea It's true, but you may be able to find him in Memphis if that turns out to be the "ONLY" team interested in him. I think he should go to the Bobcats and reunite with Larry Brown.
